Family-owned since 1832, Hotel Hochfilzer**** has developed into a true oasis of relaxation in the heart of Ellmau. The Gartenhotel FLORA, with its exclusive Treehouse, and the Haus Garden with its 2 room studios complete the Hochfilzer’s range of accommodation. The Hochfilzer family – Senior Manager Ingrid and Junior Managers Christoph & Bettina with Maximilian, Lukas, Kathrin and Erna – run the hotel with their long-standing team with the aim of making your time in the Tyrolean mountains something very special.

Historical facts about the Hotel Hochfilzer
- As early as 1549, the house was granted the right of “Wirths- und Weintafernen” by the land registry of Kufstein. Jakob Hochfilzer bought the estate on 29 November 1832.
- The family became wealthy through the cattle trade, but until 1973 (when the hotel was built) the focus was on agriculture, although the restaurant – the “Wiascht” – always had a very good reputation in the region.
- After a fire in 1969, the farm was rebuilt on the sunny side of Ellmau. The main building was not damaged in the fire.
- Further investments were made. After two years, a country style hotel was built next to the inn by Erna & Hans Hochfilzer
- A new dining room was built in 1985.
- In 1992 the deluxe rooms wing was added to the hotel and a swimming pool was built
- 1995 The main building is completely renovated – all rooms are enlarged and refurnished.
- 1995 – 2018 Partial renovation of the dining room, lounges, bar, restaurant and winter garden, addition of the panoramic sauna on the terrace by the indoor pool.
- 2018 Construction of 3rd floor with new family rooms & sky sauna
- 2022 Construction of fitness & yoga room with emperor terrace
- 2023 Complete renovation of the dining room and modernisation of the Gartenhotel Flora with new rooms, geothermal heating, insulation, etc.
